Simply irresistible, that is London. An overcrowded city situated on the southern side of England, U.K. where 300 languages are spoken. Full of contradictions, the modern things are linked to the ancient ones like the Tate Modern is to Saint Paul´s cathedral by the Millenium bridge.
An ancient roman basecamp named Londinum has become today the most visited city from all over the world with a very big offer of museums, fashion shops and popular atractions like the London Eye, a big wheel, made by British Airways.
It is the final countdown for the 2012 Olympic Games and their residents want to be prepared. There are plenty of men at work on its roads, in its streets and in the underground, what converts London into a noisy, dirty and stressful city just for the moment. There are more things than just red buses or black cabs.
Feel the rush hours of the underground. Visit the lots of museums London has for visitors. Children, adults, coming from all around the world can enjoy themselves now at the Natural History Museum, at the London Transport Museum where you can even drive a tube train in a simulator machine. Learn about History at the Imperial War Museum. Take a walk and buy weird things no human being can imagine in Camdem Market, Covent Garden, Notting Hill or Portobello.
You can also visit plenty of restaurants with all kinds of spicy food from India to Rome.
London is an impressive and attractive city to visit for anyone with a little of cultural interest that won´t leave you impassive but exhausted. And a place to know from differents points of views: along the river in a romantic cruise or by the air with the most popular attraction ever made, the London Eye. With a lot of parks and walking routes that will help you to relax from the crowdy underground which bears a resemblance to the maze in a laberinth, the laberinth of freedom. Go from point A to point B and go to London now. You are wasting your time if you don´t.
Just a last tip: avoid the touristic routes like the sightseeing tours by bus or the Changing of Guards in Buckingham Palace, you will only find heads in front of you, believe me.
En abril del 7 al 12 de 2009 estuve en Londres y disfruté mucho pateándome la ciudad y haciendo fotos.
